There could have been magic on his mother's side of the family, but it's unlikely. Mother: Julia Anne (Bernard) Fenwick - Housewife and mother, serves on committees in her spare time. Father: Augustus Michael Fenwick II - Investment Advisor, very caring and nurturing father. Brother: Augustus Michael Fenwick III ("Trey") - Three years older than Benjy, though still very close. The brothers were best friends when Benjy was home from school, and even debated starting a business together when Benjy finished at Hogwarts. But his heart was in Auror training, so he declined. Sister: Arlene Melissa Fenwick - Seven years younger than Benjy. Benjy and Trey are very protective of their younger sister. Backstory: Benjy Christopher Fenwick was born on a hot August afternoon. His parents were thrilled at the new arrival, not so much his three year old older brother Trey. Trey wasn't happy about the addition to the family, and for the first five years or so of Benjy's life, he and Trey didn't get along. It was only when Benjy started showing magical prowess when Trey realized that his brother was a pretty cool kid. They've been rather close ever since. Benjy's first sign of magic was when he fell out of the treehouse in their backyard. He hit the ground and merely bounced once or twice before landing softly on the grass. His parents saw it from the kitchen window, and Trey from above. They knew then that there was something special about their middle child. Benjy's younger sister Arlene was born when Benjy was seven. By this time he'd learned to control some of the bits of magic that he could do, though he didn't know that was what he was doing. Things like making flowers bloom, or floating pencils across the room. Minor things that gave his brother a laugh. The visit from Albus Dumbledore came as a surprise to the whole family. Benjy didn't want to leave his brother and sister to go off to school, but his parents knew this was a brilliant opportunity. They were thrilled to have a wizard in the family. There was some hesitation, but that was dashed away when Professor Dumbledore gave them all reassurance. Freshly eleven, Benjy boarded the train with his schoolmates and headed off to Hogwarts School. He made friends easily and quickly, mostly within his own house. His can-do attitude, playful nature and practical joke fetish landed him on the good side of his housemates, mostly in older years. He was accepted straight away. Second year and third year passed quickly, and soon Benjy was entering his fourth year at Hogwarts. That's when he started dating. There were a couple of girls, mostly older girls, who fancied spending time with the practical joker. He spent a good deal of his fourth year snogging those girls, in turn, though he was fairly certain they wanted more than snogging. Benjy, as much as he enjoyed a good joke or turn to laugh, was very old fashioned when it came to things like sex and serious relationships. He rarely dated more than one girl at once, and managed to keep his virginity even after school and during Auror training. He was accepted to the Quidditch team as a Chaser during his fourth year. It was the best year at Hogwarts he'd ever had. Fifth year was filled with preparation for OWLs and career counseling. Benjy decided he wanted to try his hand at being an Auror. If that failed, he could always back up to a career in Magical Law Enforcement. He blasted through his OWLs, having decided that his future was more important than snogging girls. He spent his fifth and sixth years alone, studying hard, praciting quidditch, and playing pranks in his spare time. Even though some of the girls still chased him down for dates and snogfests. He tried not to let them get in his way. One girl remained a constant in his school life. Aurora Sinistra was a girl he attempted to date, but she'd become so much like a sister that kissing her felt like incest. They became practically inseperable, to which Benjy was incredibly thankful. After school Benjy was accepted immediately to Auror Training. He excelled and became the top of his class. Albus Dumbledore contacted him to join a small group called the Order of the Phoenix, and Benjy was more than pleased that he could help in the war against the self-proclaimed "Dark Lord." Benjy finished Auror Training, and was recruited to help train the newcomers into the program. That's when he met Emmeline Vance. She was the proverbial thorn in his side. He spent the greater part of a year engaged in witty banter with the young girl, but kept his distance. Though he was very attracted to her, he didn't want to break professionalism or the trust that he had being her trainer. One morning he got up to make himself some eggs, and found he was no longer in his flat. Personality: Benjy remains a bit of a prankster. He enjoyed joking and pranking his friends and his enemies while he was at Hogwarts, and even still in the Auror program. He knows when it's time to be serious, though even now sometimes it takes a bit of pursuading for him to get to that point. Though he enjoys being playful and pranking, his heart is definitely in the right place. He's the kind of guy who will take the extra step to make sure people are included in activities. He reaches out to those lost souls and black sheep and befriends them at the oddest of times. Benjy's thirst for knowledge is what landed him in Ravenclaw house. The sorting hat was seriously considering him for Hufflepuff, but decided on Ravenclaw instead because of his enthusiasm for learning and teaching. Even though he loves to joke and prank, he's far more interested in learning and sharing knowledge than he is in playing practical jokes on his housemates and teammates. Most of his friends have learned of his nature by now, but he can still get the unsuspecting younger student with one of his gags. During Benjy's fifth year at Hogwarts, he was awarded a Prefect badge. The badge changed the way he looked at the world. He decided he wanted to be an Auror, and he started to take his life and his studies more seriously.
